Haryana is a North Indian state surrounding New Delhi on three sides. The Yamuna River runs along its eastern border with Uttar Pradesh. Just southwest is Damdama Lake, popular for boating and adventure sports. To the north, Hindu pilgrims bathe in the vast water tank of Brahma Sarovar in the town of Thanesar.
