Pahalgam is a town and a notified area committee in Anantnag district of the Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir. It is a popular tourist destination and hill station. It is located 45 kilometers from Anantnag on the banks of the Lidder River at an altitude of 7,200 feet. Pahalgam is the headquarters of one of the five tehsils of Anantnag district. Pahalgam is associated with the annual Amarnath Yatra. Chandanwari, located 16 kilometers from Pahalgam is the starting point of the yatra that takes place every year in the months of July–August.
Betaab Valley

Betaab valley is situated at a distance of 15 kilometers from Pahalgam in Anantnag district in India's northernmost state of Jammu and Kashmir. The valley got its name from the Sunny Deol-Amrita Singh hit debut film Betaab. 
Sheshnag Lake

Best Time To Visit Katra

The summer season is considered to be the best time to visit, Pahalgam because it is neither too hot nor too cold. Summer is the best time to visit Pahalgam. The temperature in summers ranges approximately between 15°C to 30°C. Pahalgam receives a scanty amount of rainfall and the weather stays slightly humid. The area is bustled mainly because of Amarnath Yatra. The sky during monsoons stays clear and there is much scope for outdoor activities like boating, trekking, sightseeing, etc. The temperature during this season ranges between 15°C to 33°C. Pahalgam receives snowfall in winters. This is a good time to visit Pahalgam if you love snow. The whole panorama gets adorned with flawlessly white snow and chilly winds. You can indulge in adventure sports like ice skating and snow skiing during the months of December and January. The temperature in winters range between 0°C and 12°C.
