The Short Answer
For a classic multi-region trip covering Rio de Janeiro, Iguazu Falls, and the Amazon, the absolute best window is April to June or September to October.
- Shoulder Seasons (Apr-Jun, Sep-Oct): Pleasant temperatures, lower humidity, and fewer crowds. Ideal for sightseeing and jungle treks.
- Peak Summer (Dec-Feb): Hot, humid, and festive. Perfect for Rio's beaches and Carnival, but expect peak pricing and heavy afternoon showers.
- Winter (Jun-Aug): Mild and dry in the Southeast. Great for city tours and waterfall viewing, but the Amazon is in its deepest dry phase.
