The Embassy of Norway in New Delhi processes tourist visa applications for residents of the following states and union territories. Submit your application at the VFS Global Kolkata centre — the primary application centre for East & Northeast India applicants.

Before booking a VFS appointment, complete your application on the official Norwegian visa portal and download the signed form. VFS Kolkata requires this form at the time of submission.
Go to the VFS Global Norway India website → click "Book an Appointment" → select Kolkata as your centre. If no slots are visible, check back early morning — slots are released daily.
Choose your preferred slot. If travelling as a family, book all applicants under one appointment group. Optionally add Premium Lounge or Prime Time slots for priority processing at an additional fee.
Pay the VFS service charge online and any optional service fees. Save and print your appointment confirmation — you must carry this to the centre.
Arrive 15 minutes early. Carry: appointment confirmation, original passport, downloaded application form, and full document set. Visa fee is payable at the centre. Biometrics are enrolled on the same visit.
Processing insights are observational and based on general applicant experience. Actual timelines depend on Embassy workload, individual application complexity, and seasonal factors.
Nearest stations: Salt Lake Sector V or Phoolbagan (Blue Line). A short auto-rickshaw or cab ride from either station will take you directly to Rajdanga Main Road.

Carry your printed appointment confirmation for entry. Mobile phones, cameras, lighters, and bags are not permitted inside — leave them in your vehicle or with a companion.
You can submit your application at any of the VFS centres across India regardless of your home city. The visa decision is made by the Embassy covering your registered state of residence — not the VFS centre where you apply.
