Oldest Roman Catholic church in the Philippines (built 1565). Houses the Santo Niño statue (child Jesus). A pilgrimage site. Free entry, modest dress required (cover shoulders/knees).
Spanish military fortress built in 1738. Small museum, cannons, and gardens. Entrance fee: PHP 30. Allow 30–45 minutes.
Often called the “Taj Mahal of Cebu”. A grand temple built by a wealthy businessman for his wife. Entrance: PHP 50. Great views of Cebu City.
Colon Street – oldest street in Philippines. Carbon Market – bustling local market for fruits, vegetables, and local products. Good for budget shopping but watch for pickpockets.
Swim with gentle whale sharks (butanding). Fees: PHP 1,500 (snorkeling), PHP 1,000 (viewing from boat). Rules: No sunscreen, no touching, maintain distance. Best to arrive before 7 AM to avoid long queues. From Cebu City: 4‑5 hours by bus, 2‑3 hours by private van.
Turquoise multi‑tiered waterfall famous for canyoneering. Adventure: jump off cliffs, swim through canyons, and slide down natural rock slides. Canyoneering fee: PHP 1,500–2,000 (guide, gear, lunch). Allow full day. Combine with Moalboal for a 2‑day trip.
World‑famous for sardine run (millions of sardines) and sea turtles. Snorkeling/fun dive: PHP 1,000–2,000. Pescador Island nearby. Cebu City to Moalboal: 3‑4 hours by bus or van.
Powder‑white sand beaches, relaxed vibe, fewer crowds. Requires 4‑5 hours travel (bus + ferry). Best for 2 days minimum. Budget beach paradise.
Planning tip: Combine Oslob + Kawasan in 2 days: Day 1: Cebu City → Oslob (whale sharks morning) → overnight in Moalboal. Day 2: Kawasan Falls canyoneering → return to Cebu City. Book tours through your hotel or reputable agencies.
Grab is reliable – use for airport transfers and within city. Metered white taxis are available but insist on “meter”. From Mactan–Cebu International Airport (CEB) to city center: Grab PHP 300–500, 30‑60 minutes.
Cebu South Bus Terminal: Buses to Oslob, Moalboal, Bato. Vans are faster (2‑3 hours to Oslob). Book private tours for convenience, especially for families.
