From iconic geological wonders to adorable primates.

Chocolate Hills

Over 1,200 symmetrical grass‑covered limestone hills that turn brown in dry season – resembling chocolate drops. Entrance fee: PHP 100. View from the main observation deck. Optional ATV rental (PHP 1,000‑1,500). Best visited in morning light. Allow 1.5‑2 hours.

Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary (Corella)

See the world’s smallest primate (fist‑sized) in a protected sanctuary. Entrance: PHP 150. Strict rules: no flash photography, no touching, keep voices low. Best visited in early morning when tarsiers are active. Allow 1 hour.

Loboc River Cruise

Floating restaurant buffet on a river surrounded by lush jungle. Live acoustic music. Cost: PHP 650‑850 (including lunch). Departs from Loboc town. Alternatively, rent a kayak (PHP 300/hour) for a quieter experience. Allow 1.5‑2 hours.

Panglao Island & Alona Beach

Hinagdanan Cave (Panglao)

Underground cave with a natural pool and stalactites. Entrance: PHP 75. Bring a flashlight. The steps can be slippery. Allow 30‑45 minutes.

Baclayon Church & Blood Compact Shrine

Baclayon Church – one of the oldest stone churches in the Philippines (1727). Museum entry: PHP 50. Blood Compact Shrine – monument commemorating the 1565 friendship treaty between Spaniards and Filipinos. Both on the way to Chocolate Hills.

By Air

Bohol–Panglao International Airport (TAG) – direct flights from Manila (1.5 hours) and Cebu (30 minutes). Airlines: Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, AirAsia. From airport to Alona Beach (Panglao): van PHP 500‑600 per person, tricycle PHP 300‑400. Travel time 20‑30 minutes.

By Ferry (from Cebu)

OceanJet, FastCat, Weesam – from Cebu City Pier 1 to Tagbilaran City Seaport. Trip duration: 2 hours. Fare: PHP 800‑1,200 (tourist class), PHP 1,200‑1,800 (business). Book online or at pier. From Tagbilaran seaport to Alona Beach: van PHP 400‑500, tricycle PHP 250‑350.

Getting Around Bohol

  • Tour vans: Best for countryside tour (PHP 2,500‑3,500 per van/day, up to 10 persons).
  • Tricycles: Short distances (PHP 50‑150). Negotiate fixed fare before riding.
