The Consulate General of France in Mumbai processes tourist visa applications for residents of the following states and union territories. Submit your application at the VFS Global Mumbai centre — the primary application centre for Maharashtra applicants under this jurisdiction.

Before booking a VFS appointment, complete your application on france-visas.gouv.fr ↗ and download the signed form with barcode. VFS Mumbai requires this form at the time of submission — you cannot submit without it.
Go to visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/fra → click "Book an Appointment" → select Mumbai as your centre. If no slots are visible, check back early morning — slots are released daily at around 8:00 AM IST.
Choose your preferred slot. If travelling as a family, book all applicants under one appointment group. Optionally add Premium Lounge or Prime Time slots for priority processing at an additional fee.
Pay the VFS service charge online and any optional service fees. Save and print your appointment confirmation — you must carry this to the centre.
Arrive 15 minutes early. Carry: appointment confirmation, original passport, downloaded France-Visas form, and full document set. Visa fee is payable at the centre. Biometrics are enrolled on the same visit.

Local trains (Western, Central, Harbour lines) and BEST buses provide excellent connectivity. Verify the nearest station to the VFS centre on the official portal before departure.
Use Ola/Uber for direct drop-off at the VFS centre. Traffic in Mumbai can be heavy — allow extra travel time. Follow signage to the VFS counters upon arrival.

Carry your printed appointment confirmation for entry. Mobile phones, cameras, and bags are not permitted inside — leave them in your vehicle or with a companion.
