About Tripura

Tripura is a hilly state in northeast India, bordered on three sides by Bangladesh, and home to a diverse mix of tribal cultures and religious groups. In the capital Agartala, the imposing Ujjayanta Palace is set among Mughal gardens, and Gedu Mia’s Mosque has white marble domes and towers. South of the city, Neermahal summer palace sits in the middle of Lake Rudrasagar and blends Hindu and Islamic architectural styles. To the southeast, the tortoise-shaped Hindu Tripura Sundari Temple sits just outside the city of Udaipur on the shores of the large KalyanSagar lake. Farther south, Mahamuni Pagoda with its golden towers is a significant Buddhist pilgrimage site. Halfway between Agartala and Udaipur, spectacled monkeys and clouded leopards can be spotted among the greenery of Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary. To the east, elephants and primates including gibbons and slow lorises live at the Gumti Wildlife Sanctuary. Neighboring Dumboor lake is home to many species of water birds.
Neermahal

Neermahal is a former royal palace built by King Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur of the erstwhile Kingdom of Tripura, India in the middle of the lake Rudrasagar in 1930 and was completed by 1938.

Tripura Sundari Temple

Tripura Sundari Temple is situated in the ancient Udaipur, about 55 km from Agartala, Tripura believed to be one of the holiest Hindu shrines in this part of the country.
Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary

Best Time To Visit Tripura

The best time to visit Tripura is from October to May when the weather remains pleasant. It is suggestible to avoid the rainy season. Summers remain here from March to May, with temperature touching its highest at 35°C. The monsoon reaches Tripura in June and continues till September, with extremely heavy rains pouring into the region. The state faces winters from October to February, with temperature touching its lowest at 10.5°C.
