Kurukshetra

Kurukshetra is a city in the north Indian state of Haryana. It is known as the setting of the Hindu epic poem the "Mahabharata." The text's great battle is depicted in a large diorama at the Kurukshetra Panorama and Science Centre. West of the city, the town of Jyotisar is a pilgrimage site where, according to the "Mahabharata," the sacred "Bhagavad Gita" scripture was first delivered. Kurukshetra is also the gateway to many holy sites in the nearby town of Thanesar, including the Brahma Sarovar, an ancient and sacred Hindu water tank. Close by is another holy reservoir, SannihitSarovar. To the north, the SthaneshwarMahadev Temple has a smaller pool crowned by a statue of Lord Shiva. The centuries-old Sheikh Chilli's Tomb has a grand marble dome and sandstone archways. The Sri Krishna Museum displays leaf etchings, ceramics, and artifacts. In northeast Kurukshetra, the compact Pipli Zoo is home to crocodiles, hyenas, and Asiatic lions.

Best Time To Visit Kurukshetra

Kurukshetra is a year-round destination. Days are hot from April to September, with some scorching highs from May to June. The monsoon season from July to September sees the most rainfall. Winters from December to February are mild.
