Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga Temple

Bhimashankar lingam was originally found, at a spot on the banks of the Bhima, near its origin. This place is called ‘Gupt Bhimashankar’, or the secret Bhimashankar, and the trek is a reasonably easy one, taking us through the dense forests of the Bhimashankar Wildlife sanctuary.
Gupt Bhimashankar Waterfall
The origin of the Bhima River can be seen just behind the bhimashankar temple. A little ahead of bhimashankar is Gupt bhimashankar. A trek down the thick forest for 25 mins leads to a stream. Gupt Bhimashankar is a stone carved group of 5 shillings under a waterfall.
Ranshil Ghat
Bhimashankar trek is known to be one of the best treks in Sahyadri ranges, the region is densely forested and is gazette notified reserved forest. From Khandas, there are few trek routes towards Bhimashankar out of which the Ranshil Ghat is the most challenging.
Nagphani Point
Nagphani Point is the highest point on Bhimashankar we view forts such as Padargad, Peth, Siddhagad. This peak is above the clouds filled in the valleys this point is above the clouds and one can enjoy the pleasant climate on this peak.
Best Time To Visit Bhimashankar
The best time to visit Bhimashankar is from November to February. The winter season is from October to February marks the onset of winters. The temperature begins to drop down but within the bearable zone and is around 13°C to 30°C. This is the most awaited time to plan an ideal vacation to Bhimashankar. Summers season begins in March and lasts up till May end. The weather is generally hot and humid with an average temperature between 23°C to 37°C. Monsoon season begins from June to September when the region experiences monsoon showers from June till mid-September. For rain lovers, the heavy monsoon showers light up the whole city with lush greenery and provide relief from the tiring summers.
