About Hastinapur
Hastinapur is a town and a nagarpanchayat in Meerut district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It has an ancient history, with occupation going back to 1100 BCE revealed by archaeological excavations. It is described in Hindu texts as the capital of the Kuru Kingdom, and it is also mentioned in ancient Jain texts.
