Zagreb, Croatia’s northwestern capital, is distinguished by its 18th- and 19th-century Austro-Hungarian architecture. At its center, Upper Town is the site of the Gothic, twin-spired Zagreb Cathedral and 13th-century St. Mark’s Church, with a colorfully tiled roof. Nearby is pedestrian-friendly Tkalčićeva Street, lined with outdoor cafes. Lower Town has the main square, Ban Jelačić, plus shops, museums and parks. The Croatian National Theater, an opulent neo-baroque landmark, is a venue for drama, opera and ballet as well as an annual international theater festival. Zagreb is home to many museums and galleries, such as the sleek Museum of Contemporary Art; the Mimara Museum, featuring artworks by European masters; the Croatian Museum of Naïve Art, housed in an old mansion; and the quirky Museum of Broken Relationships. Jarun Lake, southwest of the center, is a summer destination for swimming, sailing, restaurants and nightclubs. Nearby Mt. Medvednica offers skiing and snowboarding in winter.

St. Mark's Church
The Church of St. Mark is the parish church of old Zagreb, Croatia, located in St. Mark's Square. It is one of the oldest architectural monuments in Zagreb. The Romanesque window found in its south facade is the best evidence that the church must have been built as early as the 13th century as is also the semicircular ground-plan of St. Mary's chapel. The Gothic composition of the portal consists of fifteen effigies placed in eleven shallow niches.

Mimara Museum
Mimara Museum is an art museum in the city of Zagreb and is situated on Roosevelt Square, housing the collection by Wiltrud and Ante Topić Mimara. Its full official name is the Art Collection of Ante and Wiltrud Topić Mimara. Of the total of 3,700 varied works of art, more than 1,500 exhibits constitute permanent holdings, dating from the prehistoric period up to the 20th century.
Grič Tunnel
Grič Tunnel is a pedestrian tunnel located in the city center of Zagreb under the historic neighborhood of Grič, which gave the tunnel its name. The tunnel consists of a central hall, which is connected by two passageways to Mesnička Street in the west and Stjepan Radić Street in the east, and four passageways extending to the south.
Ethnographic Museum
Ethnographic Museum was founded in 1919 by Salamon Berger. It lies in the Secession building of the one-time Trades Hall of 1903, designed by the architect Vjekoslav Bastl. The museum has 80,000 items that cover the ethnographic heritage of Croatia, classified into three cultural zones the Pannonian, Dinaric, and Adriatic. The exhibits richly illustrate the traditional way of life in Croatia, with a display of gold-embroidered costumes and ceremonial dresses, music instruments, furniture, cooking utensils, and tools.
Ferdinand Budicki Automobile Museum
Ferdinand Budicki Automobile Museum is an automobile museum in Zagreb. The museum features more than 100 antique and classic cars, motorcycles, and bicycles, as well as several thousand photos from family albums of first Croatian drivers.
Dolac
Dolac is the most visited and the best-known farmer's market located in the Gornji Grad - Medveščak city district of Zagreb and well known for its combination of a traditional open market with stalls and a sheltered market below. The daily market, on a raised square a set of stairs up from Jelačić, has been the city’s major trading place since 1930.
Ban Jelačić Square
Ban Jelačić Square is the central square of the city of Zagreb named after Ban Josip Jelačić. It is located below Zagreb's old city cores Gradec and Kaptol and directly south of the Dolac Market on the intersection of Ilica.
Medvednica
Medvednica is a mountain in central Croatia, just north of Zagreb, and marking the southern border of the historic region of Zagorje. Most of the area of Medvednica is a nature park and about 63% is covered with forest. A winter sports center is based on the northern slopes towards Sljeme.
