Sivasagar

Sivasagar, previously spelled Sibsagar, is a city in the Sivasagar district of Assam, about 360 km northeast of Guwahati. It is the headquarters of the Sivasagar district. This city is surrounded by the Dehing rainforest, where the mighty Dihing and Lohit rivers meet. It is well known for its Ahom palaces and monuments. Sivasagar today is also an important center for the tea and oil industries.
Charaideo

Charaideo was the first capital of the Ahom kingdom established by the first Ahom king Chao Lung Siu-Ka-Pha in 1228. It is about 30 km from Sibsagar town of Assam of the Sibsagar-Sonari Road.
Chalapothar Shyam Gaon

Chalapothar Shyam Gaon is a tourist attraction in Sivasagar which forms a part of the sightseeing tour of the city. This village is mainly populated by the Khamyang people of Assam.
Ajan Pir Dargah

Pani Dihing Wildlife Sanctuary

Pani Dihing Wildlife Sanctuary is home to many migratory birds and was declared as a Wildlife Sanctuary in the year 1996. Nearly, 267 species of birds have been conserved here so far as per the records out of which there are 70 species of migratory birds. The most commonly found birds here are the grey leg goose, mallard, wigeon, shoveller, common pochard, open bill stork, red-crested pochard, adjutant stork, white-necked stork, and many others.

Kareng Ghar

Kareng Ghar, also known as Garhgaon Palace, is located in Garhgaon 15 kilometres from Sivasagar, in Upper Assam. Of all Ahom ruins, the Kareng Ghar is one of the grandest examples of Ahom architecture.
Best Time To Visit Sivasagar

Sivasagar is an important historic town of Assam. The best time to visit Sivasagar is from October to February. The summer months of March to June are quite hot and dry as the temperature range from 25°C to 38°C. Sightseeing at this time is difficult. July month brings in the monsoon that continues till September. Irregular rainfall makes the place beautiful. Winters approach Sivasagar in October and stay till February. The weather is pleasant, ideal for sightseeing as the temperature ranges from 10°C to 23°C. This is the perfect time for sightseeing.
