Hisar

Hisar or Hissar, is the administrative headquarters of the Hisar district of Hisar division in the state of Haryana in northwestern India. It is located 164 km to the west of New Delhi, India's capital, and has been identified as a counter-magnet city for the National Capital Region to develop as an alternative center of growth to Delhi. The city was ruled by several major powers, including the Mauryans in the third century BC, the Tughlaqs in the 14th century, the Mughals in the 16th century, and the British in the 19th century. After India achieved independence, it was unified with the state of Punjab. When Punjab was divided in 1966, Hisar became part of Haryana. The current name was given in 1354 AD, as Hisar-e-Firoza by Firuz Shah Tughlaq, the Sultan of Delhi from 1351 to 1388. The Ghaggar and Drishadvati Rivers once flowed through the city, but they have now changed their course. Hisar has a continental climate, with very hot summers and relatively cool winters. The most commonly spoken languages are Hindi, Haryanvi, and Bagri.
Agroha

Agroha is a town in Haryana state of northern India. It is situated in Hisar District in between Hisar city and Fatehabad on NH 10. Ancient structures, pot-shards, coins and seals have been found in archaeological excavations at the Agroha Mound.
Asirgarh Fort

Asigarh Fort, also called Hansi Fort is located on the eastern bank of Amti lake in Hansi town of Haryana, India. It is also known as Prithviraj Chauhan's Fort or Prithvi Raj Chauhan Ka Qila and has been declared a centrally protected monument by ASI.
Barsi Gate

The walled city of Hansi once had five gates of entry Delhi Gate (East), Hisar Gate (West), Gosain Gate (North-west), Barsi Gate(South) and Umra Gate (South west). Out of the five gates only Barsi gate survives Over 30 meters in height, the Barsi gate presents a beautiful example of Sultanate architecture.
Dargah Char Qutab

Dargah Char Qutub has tombs of four renowned saints i.e. Jamal-ud-din Hansvi, Burhan-ud-din, Qutubuddin Munawar and Nuruddin.
Firoz Shah Palace

Firoz Shah Palace Complex is located in front of Hisar Bus Stand in the city of Hisar in Haryana, India. It was built by Firuz Shah Tughlaq in 1354 AD.
Rakhigarhi

Rakhigarhi, or Rakhi Garhi, is a village in Hisar District in the state of Haryana in India, situated 150 kilometers to the northwest of Delhi. It is the site of a pre-Indus Valley Civilisation settlement going back to about 6500 BCE.
O P Jindal Park

There are two Jindal Park's in Hisar city. The first Jindal Park is situated on the NH-65 whereas the other park is located on Raipur road opposite Mela Ground. Both parks serve as popular places for relaxation and tourist centers which are spread over acres of land and consist of a 12 ft. high bronze statue of Mr. O.P. Jindal.
Fort of Prithviraj

Prithviraj ka Quila, Fort of Prithviraj is located in the city of Hansi in the Hisar district. As the name suggests, the fort was built by the famous Rajput warrior of the same name in the 12th century.
Best Time To Visit Hisar

Hisar has a continental climate with very hot summers and relatively cool winters. Summers temperature ranges from 40 to 46 °C. Winters are very cold with temperature ranges between 1.5 °C to 4 °C. Dust-storms are experienced during the summer months and hail-storms from February to April. Fog prevails generally in December and January months. The best time to visit Hisar is from August to March.
