Shimla

Shimla is the capital of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, in the Himalayan foothills. Once the summer capital of British India, it remains the terminus of the narrow-gauge Kalka-Shimla Railway, completed in 1903. It’s also known for the handicraft shops that line The Mall, a pedestrian avenue, as well as the Lakkar Bazaar, a market specializing in wooden toys and crafts. Hindu shrines in the area include Kali Bari Temple near The Mall and Jakhu Temple on Jakhu Hill, dedicated to the monkey god Hanuman. Best Time To Visit Shimla

Shimla is an all-year holiday destination in north India, visited by a large number of domestic and international visitors every year. The summer season is a peak season in Shimla. This is because during the season, the weather remains pleasant and it the best time to enjoy adventure sports. The temperature ranges between 15°C and 30°C in summers. It is an ideal time to enjoy activities such as paragliding, trekking, camping, and rafting. In monsoons, the temperature ranges between 15°C to 25°C. Shimla receives heavy rainfall and usually, there are chances that landslides may occur during the season. Shimla welcomes the winter season in the month of October which lasts till the month of February. The temperature during this season is between 0° C and 17° C. It is the perfect time for those who wish to enjoy skiing, snowfall, and ice skating. The temperature during the summer season in Manali ranges from 10°C to 25°C. The weather remains pleasant all day and starts dropping down by the end of the day. You can enjoy activities such as camping, trekking, and white-water river rafting at places such as Raison and Solang Valley. Winters reach Manali with the coming of October and last till February. During winters, the temperature drops down to a minimum of 1°C. It is suggested to carry some woolens if traveling during this season. The Winter season is the best time to visit Manali.
