Madikeri
Madikeri is a hill town in southern India. Framed by the Western Ghats mountain range, it’s known for the Raja’s Seat, a simple monument overlooking forests and rice paddies. In the center, the 17th-century Madikeri Fort features two stone elephants at the entrance. Nearby, the domed Omkareshwar Temple is dedicated to the Hindu deity Shiva. To the northwest, cascading Abbey Falls is surrounded by spice plantations.

Madikeri Fort
Madikeri Fort was first founded by Mudduraja in the second half of the 17th century. He also built a palace inside the fort. It was eventually rebuilt in granite by Tipu Sultan who named the site Jaffarabad.

Mandalpatti
Mandalpatti, situated at an altitude of around 4050 feet, is a hilltop 18 kms from the town of Madikeri in Karnataka and is a part of the Pushpagiri reserve forest. Mandalpatti has become a famous four-by-four Jeep drive spot to the top.
Chelavara Falls
Chelvara Falls is a natural waterfall formed by a small stream, a tributary of Kaveri near Cheyyandane village which is on Virajpet - Talakaveri State Highway around 16 km from Virajpet, in the state of Karnataka.
Gaddige Tombs
Gaddige or the tombs of Virarajendra and Lingarajendra at Madikeri is one of the important monuments of Coorg. The royal tombs on a hillock to the north of Madikeri provide a commanding view of the town.

Best Time To Visit Madikeri
The best time to visit Madikeri is from November to July. Summer starts in the month of March and ends in May in Madikeri, Karnataka. During this time there will be little rise in the temperature. During the monsoon season, the area becomes especially alluring. The smell of wet soil is intermixed with the aroma of coffee. The mornings are misty and the nights are chilly. The whole atmosphere is serene and tranquil. The Winter season in Madikeri starts in the month of November and ends in February. Day time is warm and nights are very cool. The temperature decreases up to 14°C at night.
