About Chiplun

Chiplun is a tranquil and serene place off Mumbai - Goa highway in western India. The name Chiplun means "The abode of Lord Parshuram." The city is about 320 km south of Mumbai in the Konkan region of Maharashtra.

Pandavaas Caves

Pandavaas Caves or Nasik caves, or sometimes Pandavleni Caves or Pandu Lena, Pandu Caves or Trirashmi Leni being the name of the hills in which the caves are a group of 24 caves carved between the 1st century BCE and the 3rd century CE, though additional sculptures were added up to about the 6th century, reflecting changes in Buddhist devotional practices.
Nageshwar Temple

Walawalkar Shivaji Museum

Walavalkar Shivaji Museum is situated at a distance of about 25 km from Chiplun and is known for the collection depicting the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji. There are numerous pictures and statues inside this museum that portray the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji. It took over 15 years and around one crore Indian rupees to construct this museum.
Best Time To Visit Chiplun

Summers are extremely hot in Chiplun and you can avoid coming here during summers. But coming in summers will reward you to enjoy the delicious Ratnagiri Haapoos. The best time to visit is during monsoons. With the advent of rains, it marks the beginning of a pleasing atmosphere and quaint surroundings. You can go for treks, sightseeing, etc. during this season. Waterfalls here and there make the weather and place all the more striking. Temperatures during winters fall between 12°C to 30°C. Visiting during early winters from October to November is recommended.
