Phansad Bird Sanctuary
Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife refuge in the Murud and Roha talukas of Raigad district, Maharashtra state, India. It was created in 1986 to preserve some of the coastal woodland ecosystems of the Western Ghats and consists of 6979 hectares of forest, grasslands, and wetlands. The area was once part of the hunting reserves of the princely state of Murud-Janjira.
Revdanda Beach
Revdanda Beach is a very isolated beach in this region. The sand is black in color, which gives it a unique look.
Revdanda Fort
Revdanda fort is also the location where St. Francis Xavier delivered one of his early sermons in India. The chapel still exists in a run-down condition. The chapel is within the walled fort, on the south side and not far from the main road.
Nandgaon Beach
Nandgaon Beach is on the way through Murud in order to Kashid; around 7km through the hustle-bustle associated with Murud is indeed a silent as well as a tranquil location known as Nandgaon.
Best Time To Visit Kashid
The best months to visit Kashid are from October to March to enjoy the scenic beauty along with fine sand beaches. During the winter season from December to February the weather stays pleasant and cool. Beautiful beaches of Kashid can be visited in these months, but due to low temperature, it is not ideal to take bath on the beaches. During the summer season from March to June are warm and sunny, while the nights are cool. The average temperature during the day is around 32°C. Plenty of tourists visit Kashid during this season to enjoy sightseeing. During the monsoon season from June to August the mercury dips down further. The average temperature during the day is around 24°C and at night it is around 20°C. A moderate amount of rainfall is received and humidity is high.
