About Panchgani
Panchgani is a hill station southeast of Mumbai in India’s Maharashtra state. It’s known for the Table Land, a huge volcanic plateau. Lookouts like Sydney Point and Parsi Point offer views of Dhom Dam lake and Kamalgad Fort, used as a prison by the British in the early 19th century. To the southeast, the Rajpuri Caves are surrounded by sacred ponds and contain a temple dedicated to the Hindu god Lord Kartikeya.
Table Land
Table Land, at 4,550 ft above sea level, is the highest point in Panchgani. This volcanic plateau is Asia’s second longest mountain plateau after the Tibetan plateau. It is a vast expanse of flat laterite rock surrounded by hills. Table Land offers an aerial view of the entire Panchgani and the valleys located nearby.
Sydney Point
Sydney Point is a scenic hilltop overlook offering expansive views of the Krishna Valley and the surrounding waters.

Best Time To Visit Panchgani
The best time to visit Panchgani is from October to March. Mahabaleshwar experiences moderately high temperatures during the summer months of March to June where the temperature may rise from 15°C to 35°C. It is a good place for family trips as it is full of activities and outdoor adventures. July to September experiences average to heavy rainfall in this area. Even though the area looks beautiful, most of the outdoor activities are restricted. The months of December to February are the most ideal time to visit and the temperatures vary from 10°C to 24°C. This time is best for enjoying the scenic beauty, good climate, extravagant activities, like mountain trekking and rope climbing.
