About Serchhip

Serchhip is the headquarters town of Serchhip district in the Indian state of Mizoram, and also the headquarters of Serchhip Sadar subdivision. It lies in the central part of Mizoram, and 112 km away from the State capital city of Aizawl. The district has the highest literacy all over India. The origin of the name comes from citrus trees found on top of the first hill of the then Serchhip village. The word meaning of Ser-chhip is 'citrus-on-top'. In addition to the former Serchhip village, the Town Area now included New Serchhip and Chhiahtlang villages.
Vantawng Waterfalls

Vantawng Falls called Vantawng Khawhthla in Mizo language is located 5 kilometers south of Thenzawl in Serchhip district in the Indian state of Mizoram. It is the highest uninterrupted waterfall in Mizoram.
Zoluti Hriatrengna Lung

Zoluti Hriatrengna Lung is actually a memorial stone constructed in the memory of Zoluti, who was the daughter of a manager of one of the tea gardens of the area, whose name was Dr. Winchester.
Chhingpuii Thlan

This stone memorial is named after a beautiful woman Chhingpuii who married Kaptuanga but was kidnapped and killed during the second civil war.
Thenzawl Deer Park

Thenzawl once upon a time was only a dense forest. Many deer were frequently spotted in the area. The Thenzawl Deep Park was created to give a protected home to the deer.
Tuirihiau

Tuirihiau is a beautiful waterfall near Thenzawl, upstream of Vantawng fall.
Phawngpui Blue Mountain National Park

Phawngpui National Park or Phawngpui Blue Mountain National Park is one of the two national parks of India in Mizoram, the other and the larger being Murlen National Park.
Best Time To Visit Serchhip

The best time to visit Serchhip is during the months of March to October when the climate is pleasant.
