About Barbil
Barbil is a town and a municipality in the Kendujhar district of the state of Odisha, India. The region around Barbil has the fifth largest deposit of Iron ore and manganese ore in the world. It is a major source of revenue generation for both the Central and the State governments. Barbil has a Cosmopolitan culture due to the influx of people from almost all states of India and boasts of a very good Indian culture.

Badaghagara Waterfalls
Badaghagara Waterfall is situated around 10 km from Keonjhar on NH-6 towards Sambalpur in Odisha. The waterfall is located on the river Ghagra that is a tributary of Baitrani and falls from a height of 60 meters. During rainy seasons the waterfall gets huge with loads of water from the mountain and becomes noisy. Badaghagra waterfall of Orissa is one of the prominent tourist attractions.
Maa Tarini Temple
Maa Tarini Temple in Ghatgaon is a famous Hindu Goddess temple dedicated to Maa Tarini.
Kanjhari Dam
Kanjhari Irrigation Project is a reservoir scheme across Kanjhari nallah, a tributary of river Baitarani to provide irrigation to an ayacut of 9800 ha. Construction of the project commenced in 1980 and completed in 1989. It comprises of homogeneous rolled fill earth dam of 1135m length with ogee shaped gated central spillway.
Murga Mahadev Temple
Murga Mahadeva Shrine is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located in the Nuamundi mines area under the Champua subdivision of Kendujhar district.
Sitabinji Cave
Sitabinji is 30 km from Keonjhar. Sitabinji hill is in the village 'Danguaposi'. It is situated on the bank of the Sita river.

The best time to visit Barbil is from October to March.
