About Ravangla

Ravangla or Rawangla or Ravongla is a small tourist town situated at an elevation of 7000 ft in the South Sikkim district of the Indian state of Sikkim. It is connected by state highway to other major towns in the state and lies between Pelling and Gangtok. It acts as the starting point for the trek to Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary. It is approximately 65 km away from the state capital Gangtok and 120 km away from Siliguri, West Bengal.
Tashiding Monastery

Buddha Park

Buddha Park of Ravangla, also known as TathagataTsal, is situated near Rabong in South Sikkim district, Sikkim, and features a 130-foot high statue of the Buddha as its centerpiece. 
Bon Monastery

Temi Tea Estate, located in Ravangla, is the only tea garden in Sikkim. It's considered one of the best tea gardens in India and in the world.
Ralong Hot Springs

Ralong hot water springs are located within a distance of 7 km from each other. Popular with visitors from all over the region, these natural spas are said to have strong curative powers.
Rayong Sunrise View Point

Rayong Sunrise View Point is situated on the road to Damthang from the town of Ravangla. This view point provides a panoramic view of the surroundings and a very good view of the sunrise at the place.

Maenam Hill

Situated at an altitude of 10,300 ft the scenic view from this height is, perhaps, unmatched in this part of the world. Mt. Khangchen Dzonga and its surrounding ranges loom above to dwarf the richly forested and rugged hills.
Doling Gompa

The gompa is situated inside the cardamom plantations which makes it a great place to visit to see the amazing flora and fauna present here.
Best Time To Visit Ravangla

Ravangla is situated in close proximity to the Himalayas, it features a cool climate throughout the year. If you plan to journey to this place, the summer season is the ideal time to visit. The months of September, October, and November also attract substantial tourists, as Ravangla is at its best during this time.  In summers the hill station usually records a maximum of 25°C and a minimum of 15°C. There will be occasional showers during the summer in Ravangla. The monsoon months in Ravangla receive an average rainfall of around 300 cm. There will be heavy rains and strong winds during the monsoon. The maximum temperature during monsoon in Ravangla is 17°C and the minimum is 12°C. In the cold season, the maximum temperature is around 10°C. The days are cool and the nights are chilly and heavy woolens are a must when visiting Ravangla in winter. There will be regular snowfalls in Ravangla during winter which can dip the temperature to subzero levels.
