About Tirunelveli
Tirunelveli, also known as Nellai and historically as Tinnevelly, is a major city in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the administrative headquarters of the Tirunelveli District. It is the fifth-largest municipal corporation in the state after Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, and Trichy. The city is located on the west bank of the Thamirabarani River; its twin Palayankottai is on the east bank. Palayamkottai was called the Oxford of the southern Tamil Nadu.

Best Time To Visit Tirunelveli
The best time to visit Tirunelveli is during the winter season between December and March. The weather during winters remains pleasant and comfortable for touring. March to May is the month of the summer season in Tirunelveli. During this time, the temperature of the city hot and humid which ranges between 24°C and 41°C. Because of this, the season becomes unfavorable to plan a trip here. The month of June marks the start of the monsoon in Tirunelveli which continues till September. Throughout these months, the city receives heavy rainfall, which eventually, makes the season not good to visit. Winter in Tirunelveli commences in the month of December which lasts until February.
