About Fatehpur Sikri
Fatehpur Sikri is a small city in northern India, just west of Agra, founded by a 16th-century Mughal emperor. Red sandstone buildings cluster at its center. Buland Darwaza gate is the entrance to Jama Masjid mosque. Nearby is the marble Tomb of Salim Chishti. Diwan-E-Khas hall has a carved central pillar. Jodha Bais Palace is a mix of Hindu and Mughal styles, next to the 5-story Panch Mahal that overlooks the site.
Buland Darwaza
Buland Darwaza, or the "Gate of Magnificence", was built in 1601 A.D. by Akbar to commemorate his victory over Gujarat. It is the main entrance to the palace at Fatehpur Sikri, a town which is 43 km from Agra.
Tomb of Sheikh Salim Christi
Tomb of Sheikh Salim Christi pronounced as Chisti is famed as one of the finest examples of Mughal architecture in India, built during the years 1580 and 158.
Jama Masjid
Jama Masjid, or Jami Masjid, is a 17th-century mosque in the World Heritage Site of Fatehpur Sikri. The Mughal emperor Akbar personally directed the building of the Jamiʿ Masjid, which stretches some 540 feet in length.
Jodha Bai's Palace

Panch Mahal

Diwan-E-Khas
Diwan-E-Khas is the hall of a private audience with an ornately carved central stone pillar, built for Emperor Akbar.
Hiran Minar
Hiran Minar is located close to Caravanserai in Fatehpur Sikri Fort. It is believed that Akbar built Hiran Tower in the memory of his favorite elephant, Hiran.
Turkish Sultana's House
Turkish Sultana's house is situated to the north-east corner of Anoop Talao inside the complex of Fatehpur Sikri Fort. It is also called Anoop Talao Pavilion.
Caravanserai
Caravanserai is located near the Hathi Pol near the northern entrance of Fatehpur Sikri Fort. It was built as a guesthouse for important persons and traders.
Best Time To Visit Fatehpur Sikri
The best time to visit Fatehpur Sikri is between the months of September and April. Fatehpur Sikri has hot and dry summers. The temperature during this time ranges between 30°C to 42°C. Monsoon is the best time to visit Fatehpur Sikri. The area receives sufficient rainfall, especially in the month of July. The temperature in Fatehpur Sikri ranges between 25°C to 38°C. This is a good time to explore Fatehpur Sikri’s Diwan-i-aam, Diwan-I-Khaas, Buland Darwaza, and other magnificent attractions.
In the winter season, Fatehpur Sikri is mildly chilling in the day and very cold at night. During the daytime, you can enjoy exploring its fort and other attractions with ease. The temperature in winters stays between 8°C to 25°C.
