Kedarnath is a town located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand and has gained importance because of Kedarnath Temple. It is a Nagar panchayat in the Rudraprayag district. The most remote of the four Chota Char Dham sites, Kedarnath is located in the Himalayas, near Chorabari Glacier, the head of river Mandakini, and is flanked by snow-capped peaks. The nearest road head is at Gaurikund.

Best Time To Visit Kedarnath
The best time to visit Kedarnath is around the summer months which are from March to June. The summer season is the best time to visit Kedarnath. The temperature ranges between 15°C to 30°C. There are mild warmth and cool breeze in summers, making the weather enjoyable. Though the region faces scanty rainfalls in general, when it rains heavily, the chances of landslides increases. This could also result in the blockage of routes. This time is recommended to be avoided unless you are a big-time adventurer. The temperature during this time ranges between 15°C to 30°C. Kedarnath has chilling winters with temperatures dipping below the freezing point. Sometimes there are sunny days too and the temperature ranges between 0°C to 20°C. Visit Kedarnath at this time if you love winter chills.
