About Casablanca
Casablanca is a port city and commercial hub in western Morocco, fronting the Atlantic Ocean. The city's French colonial legacy is seen in its downtown Mauresque architecture, a blend of Moorish style and European art deco. Standing partly over the water, the enormous Hassan II Mosque, completed in 1993, has a 210m minaret topped with lasers directed toward Mecca. Elsewhere, the seaside Ain Diab district is favored for leisure and nightlife activities. It is Corniche area is a beachfront promenade with cafes, bars, hotels, and restaurants. Located in the residential Oasis quarter, the Moroccan Jewish Museum explores the history of the country’s Jewish community. Downtown is the small Old Medina lined with shops. Running south of the city toward Oualidia and Essaouira, the beach-lined coast is a major summer holiday destination. Casablanca is also famous for the 1942 Humphrey Bogart film of the same name, with re-created Rick's Cafe as a popular site.
Hassan II Mosque
Hassan II Mosque is a mosque in Casablanca, Morocco. It is the largest functioning mosque in Africa and is the 7th largest in the world. Its minaret is the world's second tallest minaret at 210 meters. The minaret is 60 stories high topped by a laser, the light from which is directed towards Mecca.
Casablanca Cathedral
Casablanca Cathedral, or Church of the Sacred Heart, is a former Roman Catholic church located in Casablanca. The church was designed by French architect Paul Tournon, using the Art Deco style constructed in 1930.

The museum displays the collection of its namesake: old posters, Moroccan jewelry, figurative paintings by Muhammad Ben Ali Rabati, landscape paintings by Jacques Majorelle, crystal objects, etc.
Mahkama du Pacha
Mahkamat al-Pasha is an administrative building constructed 1941-1942 in the Hubous neighborhood of Casablanca, Morocco. The complex serves or has served as a courthouse, residence of the pasha, parliamentary reception hall, and jail. The complex is characterized by traditional Mauro-Andalusi architectural features such as zeleej, stucco work, carved cedar wood, and green-tiled roofs.
