About Xian
Xi’an is a large city and capital of Shaanxi Province in central China. Once known as Chang’an (Eternal Peace), it marks the Silk Road’s eastern end and was home to the Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang dynasties ruling houses. At archaeological sites in Xi’an’s surrounding plains are the famed Bingmayong (Terra Cotta Army), thousands of life-size, hand-molded figures buried with China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang. Surrounding Xi’an’s inner core is the Ancient City Wall, standing 12m tall. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda is an iconic, tapering Buddhist temple from the Tang Dynasty. The Muslim Quarter contains twisting lanes with shops, kebab houses, and fruit stalls. It also includes the expansive, Chinese-style Great Mosque, founded during the height of the Tang Dynasty in the year 742. The Forest of Stelae Museum holds a large number of inscribed tablets including the Confucian classics. Outside Xi’an, another popular site is Han Yang Ling, Emperor Jingdi’s mausoleum, containing terra-cotta soldiers, eunuchs, and domesticated animals.
Terracotta Army
The Terracotta Army is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. It is a form of funerary art buried with the emperor in 210–209 BCE with the purpose of protecting the emperor in his afterlife.
Giant Wild Goose Pagoda
Giant Wild Goose Pagoda or Big Wild Goose Pagoda, is a Buddhist pagoda located in southern Xi'an, Shaanxi, China. It was built in 652 during the Tang dynasty and originally had five stories.
Fortifications of Xi'an
The fortifications of Xi'an, also known as Xi'an City Wall, in Xi'an, represent one of the oldest, largest, and best-preserved Chinese city walls. It was built under the rule of the Hongwu Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang as a military defense system.
Famen Temple

Bell Tower of Xi'an
The Bell Tower of Xi'an, built-in 1384 during the early Ming Dynasty, is a symbol of the city of Xi'an and one of the grandest of its kind in China. The Bell Tower also contains several large bronze-cast bells from the Tang Dynasty. The tower base is square and it covers an area of 1,377 m².
Drum Tower of Xi'an
The Drum Tower of Xi'an, located in the heart of Xi'an in Shaanxi province of China, along with the Bell Tower is a symbol of the city. Erected in 1380 during the early Ming Dynasty, it stands towering above the city center and offers an incredible view of Xi'an.

Banpo Museum
Banpo is an archaeological site discovered in 1953 and located in the Yellow River Valley just east of Xi'an, China. It contains the remains of several well organized Neolithic settlements, like Jiangzhai, carbon-dated to 6700 to 5600 years ago.
Mount Taibai
Mount Taibai is a mountain located on the border between Mei, Taibai, and Zhouzhi counties in the southwest of Shaanxi Province, China. The mount's highest point, Baxian Tower, rises to a height of 3,750 m and is the tallest in the Qinling Range, as well as the watershed between the Han River and Wei River.
Weiyang Palace
The Weiyang Palace was the main imperial palace complex of the Han dynasty and numerous other Chinese dynasties, located in the city of Chang'an. It was built in 200 BC at the request of the Emperor Gaozu of Han, under the supervision of his prime minister Xiao He.
Best Time To Visit Xian
Spring or autumn is considered the best season to visit Xian, which is neither too hot nor too cold.
