Yokohama, a Japanese city south of Tokyo, was one of the first Japanese ports opened to foreign trade, in 1859. It contains a large Chinatown with hundreds of Chinese restaurants and shops. It’s also known for Sankei-en Garden, a botanical park containing preserved Japanese residences from different eras, and the seaside Minato Mirai district, site of the 296m Landmark Tower. Every 3 years, the city hosts the Yokohama Triennale, an exhibition of modern art, at venues like the Yokohama Museum of Art, which also has a permanent collection of 20th-century art. The green strip of Yamashita Park fronts the harbor, and Hakkeijima Sea Paradise offers an amusement park and an aquarium.
Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise
Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise is an amusement park consisting of an aquarium, shopping mall, hotel, marina, and amusement rides. It is located in Hakkeijima, Kanazawa-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. It opened for business on May 8, 1993. It is a pay-as-you-go theme park, having no gates or admission charges. The amusement park offers an aquarium with sealife shows, rides, and a marina.
Yokohama Landmark Tower
The Yokohama Landmark Tower is the second tallest building and 4th tallest structure in Japan, standing 296.3 m high and offers 360° views. Until surpassed by Abeno Harukas in 2012, it stood as the tallest building in Japan. It is located in the Minato Mirai 21 district of Yokohama city, next to the Yokohama Museum of Art.
Cup Noodles Museum
The Cup Noodles Museum is also known as Andō Momofuku Hatsumei Kinenkan dedicated to instant noodles and Cup Noodles, as well as its creator and founder, Momofuku Ando. It is an interactive museum designed to stir creativity and features four stories of exhibitions and attractions.

Enoshima
Enoshima is a small island off the Shōnan coast of Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture. It’s known for the Enoshima Shrine, with statues honoring Benzaiten, the Buddhist goddess. It's also home to the Enospa hot springs and the 19th-century, English-style Samuel Cocking Garden with its Sea Candle lighthouse. The Iwaya Caves feature tidal pools and Buddhist statues. Popular mainland beaches overlook the island.
Engaku-ji
Zuirokusan Engaku Kōshō Zenji, or Engaku-ji, is one of the most important Zen Buddhist temple complexes in Japan and is ranked second among Kamakura's Five Mountains. The temple was founded in 1282 and features gates, temples, a giant bell, and a relic of the Buddha.
Yamate
Yamate is the name of a historic neighbourhood in Naka-ku, Yokohama often referred to in English as The Bluff. The neighbourhood is famous as having been a foreigners residential area in the Bakumatsu, Meiji, and Taishō periods. The striking, wood-built Yamate Museum and redbrick Iwasaki Museum house period art and antiques from across Europe and Japan.
Meigetsu-in
Fugenzan Meigetsu-in is a Rinzai Zen temple of the Kenchō-ji school in Kita-Kamakura, Kanagawa, Japan. Famous for its hydrangeas, it's also known as The Temple of Hydrangeas. The main object of worship is the goddess Shō Kannon.
Motomachi
Motomachi consists mainly of the Motomachi Shopping Street, a five-block long stretch of boutiques and shops, well known in Japan for its cosmopolitan atmosphere, original fashion, and Western influence.

Yokohama is known for its many clear, sunny days in winter and hot, humid days in summer. It has a mild climate with plenty of good weather year-round.
