Playa del Carmen is a coastal resort town in Mexico, along the Yucatán Peninsula's Riviera Maya strip of Caribbean shoreline. The state of Quintana Roo, is known for its palm-lined beaches and coral reefs. Its Quinta Avenida pedestrian thoroughfare runs parallel to the beach, with blocks of shops, restaurants, and nightspots ranging from laid-back bars to dance clubs. Popular snorkeling and scuba diving spots are the Great Maya Reef and natural limestone sinkholes called cenotes. Beach activities include sunbathing, swimming, banana boating, tubing, and jet skiing. A marina at nearby Puerto Aventuras offers fishing and boating. The area’s golf courses include Playacar Golf Club and the Jack Nicklaus-designed El Manglar Golf Club. The huge Xcaret eco-archaeological park offers hiking, horseback riding, traditional entertainment, and interactions with wildlife. The adjacent Xplor park has zip-lining and a swimmable underground river.
Playacar

Playacar is known for its upmarket residential villas, all-inclusive resorts, and luxury golf club. The clear waters and white sand of its namesake beach draw a mix of locals and visitors for kitesurfing, snorkeling, swimming, and sunbathing. Iguanas scamper over the Xaman-Ha ruins, a cluster of crumbling stone buildings used by the Maya until the 16th century.
Muyil

Muyil was one of the earliest and longest inhabited ancient Maya sites on the eastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. The ruins of Muyil are an example of Peten architecture, like those found in southern Mayan sites with their steep walled pyramids such as Tikal in Guatemala. Artifacts found here date back from as early as 350 BC. to as late as 1200-1500 AD.
Xcaret

Xcaret is a nature park in Playa del Carmen where you and your family can enjoy more than 50 natural and cultural attractions. The nature-based attractions of the park include a river that goes through the Mayan village, a subterranean concrete sluice in which people can swim and snorkel with a life vest. The park also has a coral reef aquarium turtle nesting site. Next to the inlet, there’ is an area for manatees. The park also has a bird pavilion, butterfly pavilion, bat cave, orchids and bromeliad greenhouse, an island of jaguars, and a deer shelter, among others.
Xenses

Xenses is an outdoor amusement park with sense-themed activities and optical illusions. There are many interactive displays and optical illusions throughout the park. Xenses numbers them to be about 15 activities you can do while visiting. The most popular attraction at Xenses Park is “El Pueblo” or the village. This is a street that appears to be steep with buildings lining the sides. It is actually not a steep street, but rather an optical illusion.
Xelha

Xelha is an archaeological site of the Maya civilization from pre-Columbian Mesoamerica, located on the eastern coastline of the Yucatán Peninsula. The lagoon and inlet at Xelha have been turned into a commercial water theme park known as Xel-Ha Park. Xelha was one of several key ports of the Maya city of Coba; others included Tancah and Tulum. It was likely used as a point of intercultural exchange between the Maya and other sea-navigating peoples between the 7th and 12th centuries.
Portal Maya

Portal Maya is a beautiful bronze sculpture at the founding father's park facing the sea and a public beach area. The park is a fun gathering area with entertains performing in the evening and locals performing dances and rituals in ancient Mayan costumes.
Parque La Ceiba

Parque La Ceiba is a green park in the midst of the city. It offers a meeting point for tourists and locals alike and a recreational destination for grown-ups and children. The park hosts a crafts market with Maya artisans every third Saturday of the month.
Xplor Park

Xplor Park is a jungle adventure park with zip-lining, amphibious vehicles, rafting, and underground rivers. Descend into the depths of the earth and explore the underground world full of stalactites and stalagmites, whether walking, swimming, paddling with your hands on a raft.
3D Museum Of Wonders

At the 3D Museum Of Wonders, you can take photos with 3D conceptual paintings at this interactive museum with many galleries. This magnificent museum allows the visitor an opportunity to become part of the display. The huge artwork beckons you to enter into the displays and become one with the painting.
