Los Angeles is a sprawling Southern California city and the center of the nation’s film and television industry. Near its iconic Hollywood sign, studios such as Paramount Pictures, Universal, and Warner Brothers offer behind-the-scenes tours. On Hollywood Boulevard, TCL Chinese Theatre displays celebrities’ hand- and footprints, the Walk of Fame honors thousands of luminaries, and vendors sell maps to stars’ homes. Highlights of LA beyond the entertainment industry include the Getty Center, home to European and American art and extensive gardens. Griffith Observatory has panoramic skyline views, while the Lakers and Clippers basketball teams play at Staples Center. In and around the city are notable beaches including Venice, complete with funky shops on a colorful boardwalk, and Santa Monica, whose pier offers rides and games. Live music venues dot the billboard-lined Strip, a stretch of Sunset Boulevard running through the West Hollywood area. Beverly Hills is the site of the famously upscale shopping street Rodeo Drive.
Disneyland Park
Disneyland Park is the first of two theme parks built at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. It is the only theme park designed and built to completion under the direct supervision of Walt Disney and the first Disney theme park. Disneyland provides live entertainment throughout the park and many Disney characters can be found throughout the park, greeting visitors, interacting with children, and posing for photos.
Griffith Observatory
Griffith Observatory is a popular tourist attraction with a close view of the Hollywood Sign and an extensive array of space and science-related displays. The observatory is split up into six sections: The Wilder Hall of the Eye, the Ahmanson Hall of the Sky, the W.M. Keck Foundation Central Rotunda, the Cosmic Connection, the Gunther Depths of Space Hall, and the Edge of Space Mezzanine.
Hollywood Sign
Hollywood Sign is an American landmark and cultural icon overlooking Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. It is situated on Mount Lee, in the Hollywood Hills area of the Santa Monica Mountains. The sign makes frequent appearances in popular culture, particularly in establishing shots for films and television programs set in or around Hollywood. Visitors can hike to the sign from the Bronson Canyon entrance to Griffith Park or from Griffith Observatory.
Santa Monica Pier
Santa Monica Pier is a large double-jointed pier at the foot of Colorado Avenue in Santa Monica, California, United States. It contains a small amusement park, concession stands, and areas for views and fishing. The pier contains Pacific Park, a family amusement park with its solar-paneled Ferris wheel. The brightly lit wheel can be seen from a distance and has been turned off during the Earth Hour observance.

It has more than 30 eateries, a 19-screen movie theater featuring IMAX, 7-night spots, indoor skydiving, and more than 30 stores. 5 Towers is an interactive outdoor concert venue on Universal CityWalk, featuring a technologically advanced staging system. The stage is equipped with thousands of LED fixtures, motion capture sensors, five soaring 42-foot light tower sculptures, a massive video monitor, and a state-of-the-art audio system.
Muscle Beach
Muscle Beach refers to the exclusive Santa Monica location of the birthplace of the physical fitness boom in the United States. The landmark derives its name from the growing local and national reputation of gymnastics and strength athletes who congregated at what was first known simply as the Santa Monica Beach Playground, with the muscle term gaining momentum.
Madame Tussauds Hollywood
Madame Tussauds Hollywood is a wax museum and tourist attraction located on Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood. Each wax figure has its own placard placed on a wall in close physical proximity to it, containing information about the portrayed figure. The biggest figure in the museum is King Kong. Marilyn Monroe and Vin Diesel are among some of the figures used in the lobby to entice guests to enter the attraction.
Sunset Boulevard
Sunset Boulevard is a boulevard in the central and western part of Los Angeles, California, that stretches from the Pacific Coast Highway in Pacific Palisades east to Figueroa Street in Downtown Los Angeles. It is a major thoroughfare in the cities of Beverly Hills and West Hollywood as well as several districts in Los Angeles.
Runyon Canyon Park
Runyon Canyon Park is a 160-acre park in Los Angeles, California, at the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains. There are five ways to enter Runyon Canyon: two gates at the bottom of the park in the south at Fuller and Vista Streets; a gate at the top of Runyon Canyon Road at Mulholland Drive on the north side of the park, a gate at the northwest end of the park at Solar Drive by the trail on West Ridge, and a spine-ridge footpath from the top of Wattles Garden.
Third Street Promenade
Third Street Promenade is a pedestrian mall esplanade, shopping, dining, and entertainment complex in the downtown area of Santa Monica, California. It is considered a premier shopping and dining district on the Westside and draws crowds from all over the Greater Los Angeles area. Street performers and entertainers are a frequent sight on the street. On a typical Saturday night in the summer, singer-songwriters, classical guitar players, magicians, clowns, hip-hop dancers, lounge singers, session drummers perform here.
