Day 1
Arrival Lima
A vehicle, accompanied by a guide, will pick you up from the airport at the established time to transfer you to your hotel in Lima.
Day 2
Lima
Explore Lima's Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, filled with fascinating historical buildings. Begin with a tour of the colonial center, which radiates from the Main Plaza visiting the Cathedral and Casa Aliaga. Continue to the Larco Museum, housed in a wonderfully restored viceregal mansion. Finally, go to the "Parque del Amor" where you will appreciate the cliffs with a great view of the Pacific Ocean.
Day 3
Lima - Arequipa
A vehicle will take you to the Chaco station; a boarding point for the boat ride to the Ballestas Islands; a natural reserve of beautiful geological formations, impressive animal fauna, and remnants of pre-Inca cultures. The Ballestas Islands are inhabited by endemic birds, pelicans, sea lions, Humboldt penguins, and other species that find refuge in the archipelago. After this excursion, you will visit the Regional Museum in Ica. After lunch, you will be transferred to the city of Nasca.
Day 4
Arequipa - Colca Valley and Canyon
You will arrive at the Pisco airport for a 1 hour and 30-minute plane flight over the desert and observe the mysterious Nazca lines, made up of figures that form a monkey, a spider, a condor, and more. If the weather conditions or the airspace permit allow it, the recent findings in Palpa will be flown over. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the bus station, from where you will depart by regular bus for a 10-hour journey to the city of Arequipa. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel.
Day 5
Colca Valley and Canyon
Your journey will begin at the Plaza de Armas, next to the magnificent Arequipa Cathedral built during the 17th century. Visit the Monastery of Santa Catalina, and the Church of the Society of Jesus (1590). To end the day, visit the districts of Yanahuara and Carmen Alto, to have a panoramic view of the Arequipa countryside.
Day 6
Colca Valley and Canyon - Puno
Depart Arequipa, passing through the Yura district en route to the Colca Valley. Lunch will be served in the picturesque town of Chivay with a transfer in the afternoon to your selected hotel in the Colca Valley. The rest of the day is at leisure or you can visit the local hot springs.
Day 7
Puno - Lake Titicaca - Uros & Taquile Islands
Take a deep breath and appreciate the immensity of the Colca Valley, one of the deepest canyons in the world with a maximum depth of 4,160 meters. The excitement of the experience is enhanced by the natural spectacle of large condors that fly over the canyon. Descend to the bottom of the valley to discover some of the rustic villages in the area.
Day 8
Puno - Cusco
You will go by boat to the floating islands of Uros, an ancient society that populates a series of artificial islands built from the Totora plant that grows in the lake. You will continue your trip to the island of Taquile. The Island was part of the Inca Empire and the vestiges of that culture can still be seen in its buildings.
Day 9
Cusco
Travel through the jaw-dropping landscapes of the highland plateau. Stop en route at the town of Andahuaylillas, at Raqchi to admire its archeological and Pukara where the Lithic Museum is located. Upon arrival in Puno, transportation service and a representative will take you from the bus station to the hotel in the city.
Day 10
Cusco - Pisac - Ollantaytambo - Sacred Valley
The city tour starts at Coricancha, built by Inca Pachacutec, and at the arrival of the Spaniards became the basis for the construction of the Santo Domingo Convent. You will continue your tour to the city´s Main Square where you will see its architecture and the imposing Cathedral. You will continue to the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, the archeological site of Quenqo and PukaPucara which means "Red Fortress".
Day 11
Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu
You will head to Awanakancha (The Palace of Textiles), an exhibition center of textiles and South American camelids. You will continue your tour at the Pisac market. Continue to the Pisac archaeological site, a masterpiece of the agriculture of the Inca Empire. You will have lunch and then visit Ollantaytambo, making a series of stops at points of interest. Finally, you will head to your hotel in Sacred Valley.
Day 12
Machu Picchu - Ollanta Station - Cusco
Your tour to Machu Picchu begins with a train ride to Aguas Calientes, the last stop before entering the remains of the most important archaeological site in Peru. After a short transfer by bus, you will reach the lost city of the Incas: Machu Picchu. Return to Aguas Calientes for lunch at Café Inkaterra. Then, you will begin your return to Cusco.
Day 13
Cusco - Departure to Lima
Breakfast at the hotel. A transportation service will transfer you from the selected hotel to the airport. A representative will assist you during the journey.
